Lala Lajpath Rai along with Madan Mohan Malavya founded the Nationalist Party
- Wardha scheme of Basic Education (1937), worked out by the Zakir Hussain Committee after Mahatma Gandhi published a series of articles in the Harijan.
- It centred around ‘manual productive work’ which would cover the remuneration of teachers.
- There was to be a seven year course through the mother tongue of the students. It was to be centred around crafts.
