  • The mode of transference of heat energy within the heated medium by the movement of the substance itself.
  • The movement within the heated medium takes place in the form of currents, whereby a hot current of liquid or gas moves upwards and its place is taken by a cold current of liquid or gas moving downwards.
  • As the cold currents move downwards so the freezing chest is located at the top of the food compartment of the refrigerator.
  • Radiation is a process of transmission of heat from one body to another without heating the intervening medium or even in the absence of the intervening medium.
